What is Rogers PCB?

Rogers PCB is a high-speed PCB produced by Rogers Company, laminated by multiple layers of special materials. Rogers PCB is printed circuit board frequency above 1GHz. It has no glass fiber in the middle and uses a ceramic foundation as a high-frequency material. The Rogers PCB contains no epoxy and differs from the conventional FR-4 circuit board layout. As a PCB manufacturer, we will take you to understand why Roger PCB is expensive
Rogers PCB of Features:high-frequency PCB
- Good rigidity, good mechanical and electric performance, easy to metal holes.
- Rogers PCB plate thickness has high accuracy.
- Rogers PCB has good copper sheet adhesion, high heat dissipation capacity, and good stripping strength.
- Rogers PCB is similar to FR-4 processing technology, but the circuit board cost is high.
- Strong reliability, the Rogers baseboard PCB is the most stable data in the industry. It is widely used in high reliability, aerospace, and defense applications or harsh environmental applications.
- Excellent dielectric characteristics: using special amide resin material, with stable dielectric constant and temperature. The dielectric constant thermal expansion coefficient agrees very well with the copper foil.
- With the characteristics of low dielectric loss and low water absorption, the dielectric constant (DK) changes steadily with the frequency, and it has a low exhaust rate in aerospace applications.
The difference between the FR-4 PCB and the Rogers PCB
- FR-4 materials are cheaper than Rogers materials.
- Rogers materials have a high frequency compared to FR-4 materials.
- FR-4 materials have higher Df or dissipation factor than Rogers materials, with high signal loss.
4 Regarding impedance stability, the Dk value range of the Rogers material is larger than the FR-4 material.
- For the dielectric constant, the Dk of the FR-4 is about 4.5, which is lower than the Dk of the Rogers material (about 6.15 to 11).
- In terms of temperature management, the Rogers material showed less variation compared to FR-4 materials.
Rogers (Rogers) high-frequency materials can be divided into RO3000, RO4000, and RO5000.
RO3000:PTFE composites containing special ceramic fillers for commercial microwave and RF applications.
RO4000: Non PTFE, stable electrical characteristics at different frequencies, low dielectric constant temperature coefficient, low Z-axis thermal expansion coefficient, low inner plate expansion coefficient, excellent dimensional stability, easy to mass production. It can be used for satellite TV LNB, microstrip lines, cellular base station antenna and power amplifier, spread frequency communication systems, RFID tags, etc.
RO5000:The PTFE composites were used. With a low dielectric constant (Dk) and low loss, suitable for high-frequency applications.
Rogers high-frequency materials applications:
Rogers (Rogers), as the world’s leading special plate supplier, Rogers board has a global market share of more than 50% and has many years of experience in the field of base station antenna radio frequency.
Using Roger (Rogers) high-frequency materials to make the Rogers PCB, widely used in communication equipment, industrial control, smart home, customized power supply, medical machinery, and other fields.
